[Home] [Special Issuance] [EKG Information] [FAA Medical Exams]

EKG Directions

  1. You must have an EKG performed if you are seeking a FIRST class medical, AND you are 35 years of age or older. You must have your first EKG at your first medical after reaching age 35, and then annualy (NOT at every medical) beginning at age 40.
  2. You do not need to bring or send your EKG to me, as it is sent directly to the FAA via the internet by the person performing the EKG. You should have your EKG done as soon as possible after today’s first class medical exam. An EKG performed in your doctor’s office is not acceptable, as it must be transmitted directly to the FAA, and most doctor’s offices are not equipped to do that.
  3. Your EKG can be obtained at either of the two following places, your choice, any fees charged are your responsibility.
